I am a licensed trauma-informed Clinical Counsellor & Meditation teacher providing counselling services online as well as in person in North Burnaby, BC as well as in nature settings for nature-based therapy experiences.
I help men and women heal the adult and childhood trauma that’s getting in the way of their personal and relationship fulfillment and happiness.
In 2003 I completed a Masters degree of Psychology from Antioch University Seattle with a special focus on Marriage and Family Therapy. Since then I have been trained in advanced experiential and trauma therapies such as EMDR, Emotion Focused Therapy; Compassionate Inquiry; Somatic/Embodied therapies, Non Dual spiritual psychotherapy/mentorship (The Realization Process).
In the early years of my career I worked as an addictions counsellor where I had the opportunity to work with people struggling with more acute mental health struggles - ultimately, individuals with the deepest of wounds and most severe daily life struggles who taught me the most about vulnerability, courage and the resilience of the human spirit.
Over the course of the past decade I embarked on a transformational journey of healing and self-realization activated by the end of a 20 year relationship, developing a fascination for working with others at the intersection of psychology and spirituality. It became clear to me that I was on a path of love and ultimately, integrity so that I could help others heal the root of their relationship struggles, recover their self-worth and embody their whole self.
In the Spring of 2022 I completed my 18 month certification training to become a meditation teacher and embodied spirituality mentor in The Realization Process — an embodied spiritual path, to bring healing, awakening and embodiment practices that cultivate our capacity to feel at home in our bodies — with a capacity to rest, move and relate from the depth of ourselves and our wholeness.
What I most appreciate about The Realization Process is that it is an experiential method. It’s power rests in the direct felt sense/experience of awakening in the body—regardless of what metaphysical concepts one might believe/or traditional spiritual lineage one might follow. In this way, the practices can illuminate the universality of spiritual teachings and inner knowing.
Today, I interweave all of the above cutting edge therapeutic trauma-informed modalities with the Realization Process to gently but powerfully heal human suffering caused by the disconnect from one’s true nature and capacity to love and be loved.
Please note: For those called to deeper mentorship in the Realization Process, I also offer individual Embodied Spirituality Mentorship sessions with guidance in The Realization Process. You are welcome to book a consultation call below to see if it feels aligned for us to work together.
My highest joy is to see another discover who they really are ~ their intrinsic worth and wholeness. Even for a moment, to witness these moments of whole-being awakening means that they've made contact with the healing presence of love. This is priceless. This is why I do what I do. It is not simply a vocation. It is, opportunity after opportunity of experiencing and witnessing the deep intelligence of the heart found in the courageous presence between each and every one of us.
I am deeply grateful for the privilege of doing this work. I have utmost reverence for the vulnerable, courageous presence it takes for each and every human that meets with me.
